The tones on my phone aren't working and I
have experienced intermittent keypad response, what could be
the problem?
These are symptoms of some type of internal electronic problem
and the unit will have to be sent to the Mitsubishi repair depot
for service.
-
How do I unlock my phone?
Enter your 3-digit unlock code. If a 3-digit unlock code has
not been programmed, try entering "000" which is the
factory default code. If "000" does not unlock your
phone, a three digit unlock code exists in your phone. NOTE:
If you know your 4-digit Security Code, you may recall your
"unlock code" by entering "FCN" + "83"
+ "your 4-digit Security Code".
-
What is the difference between my security
code and my unlock code?
Your security code is a 4-digit code programmed into your phone
by your dealer. Your security code is needed to access functions
such as setting Call Restrictions and turning on the Status
Monitor. A security code cannot be changed unless the phone
is reprogrammed.
Your unlock code is a 3-digit code also programmed into your
phone by your dealer. Enter this code to unlock the phone when
it is locked. To change your own unlock code, press "FCN"
+ "8" + "3" + (4-digit Security Code). Your
phone accesses the "Programmable Unlock Code" mode
and shows your current unlock code. If you want to change the
unit's unlock code, enter a new three digit code at this time
and press the "STO/END" key. The unlock code can be
changed even if the phone is locked.
-
What does the "NO SVC" indicator
in my display mean?
"NO SVC" (no service) indicates that the phone is
out of the cellular service area and cannot be used to place
or receive calls. Make sure the antenna is fully extended and,
if you are in a building, move to an area such as a window where
signal strength may be stronger. If "NO SVC" is still
displayed check that you're System A/B Select is set correctly.
STANDBY OPERATION ONLY - Each cellular service area usually
has two cellular service providers. One is being the "A"
system and the other being the "B" system. You should
check with your cellular service provider to find out if your
system is the "A" or the "B" system. Press
"FCN" + "36" to access the "System
A/B Selection" mode. The display will show the current
system preference selected. Press the "*" or "#"
key to switch to a new system preference. Press the "CLR"
key to clear the display.
NOTE: If "ROAM INHIBIT" was selected during the NAM
programming, "FCN / 36" will not be active.
-
How do I switch between NAMs in my phone?
STANDBY OPERATION ONLY - During your unit's programming, either
Single or Multi NAM was selected depending if one or more phone
numbers were programmed in your phone. Press "FCN"
+ "31" to enter Multi NAM Selection Mode. The LCD
shows the current setting. If other NAMs have been programmed
into your phone, they may be selected by pressing the "*"
or "#" key. Your phone will operate based on the selected
NAM.
-
Why does "ROAM" appear in the display?
Your Home System is the system in your Home Cellular Region
that provided your phone number. Your Home System is called
either System A or System B. "ROAM" indicates that
your phone is NOT operating on your Home System.
"ROAM" will be displayed steadily when you are outside
of your Home Cellular Region and you are operating on the same
system (A or B) as your Home System. "ROAM" will flash
whenever you are operating on the alternate system, both inside
and outside your Home Cellular Region.
"ROAM" may flash occasionally in your home area when
your Home System has a weak signal and the alternate system
has a strong signal. If "ROAM" flashes almost constantly,
check that you're A/B System Selection is set correctly. "FCN"
+ "36"
-
Why can't I place calls on my phone when the
signal is strong and my phone is not locked?
Your phone may have a call restriction set. To view the current
setting of this feature, press "FCN" + "8"
+ "1" + (4-digit security code). The following seven
levels can be selected by pressing "*" or "#".
No Restriction: All call procedures are available.
Local Only: Long distance calls and operator calls are restricted.
Only local calls (a seven digit telephone number) and toll free
calls (1-800
) can be made.
Recall 1-9: You can only make calls by "recalling"
numbers from memory locations 1 - 9.
Last Number Only: You can only make calls to the last number
dialed.
P Only: You can only make calls to the number stored in the
"p" memory location.
Receive Only: You may not make calls. You may only receive calls.
To exit press the "STO" key.
NOTE: Emergency calls to "911" are always allowed
during any restriction level (even when the phone is locked).
-
When I press the keypad nothing happens.
Your phone's 'Call Restriction' feature may be enabled. Check
the current status by pressing "FCN" + "8"
+ "1" + (4-digit security code). Press the "*"
or "#" keys to scroll through your Call Restriction
options. To select your level of Call Restriction and to exit
this function, press the "CLR" key. Please refer to
your owner's manual for a detailed description of all Call Restriction
levels.
