Will my phone's warranty be void if I use
an accessory manufactured by another company?
If the accessory causes a problem with the phone, then the warranty
is void. Many second party accessory suppliers and manufacturers
reduce the cost of the accessories by eliminating safety circuitry,
reducing strength, increasing tolerances and trying to use off-the-shelf
components. Some accessory suppliers offer to pay for the cost
of repair if their accessories cause the problem with the phone.
Mitsubishi has tried to reduce the cost of accessories the last
several years to discourage the use of second party accessories.
Mitsubishi Wireless Communications Inc. (MWCI) does not endorse
any second party accessories.

Are second source (non-Mitsubishi) battery
packs as good as Mitsubishi's?
Some are and some aren't. The heart of a battery pack is the
cells inside. In order to save money, the cell manufacturer
supplies these cells without labeling them. The consumer can't
really see who the cell manufacturer is or the rating on the
cells. Most second source cell manufacturers will meet the cell's
specifications, but the following should be considered:
A. How long is shelf life? If you can fully charge a battery
pack, leave it set without using it for 72 hours (at normal
room temperature), then use it and still get the same talk times/standby
times, chances are it has good shelf life.
B. Durability is how many times the battery can be charged
and discharged. Each charge/discharge cycle will deteriorate
the capacity somewhat. There's not a real good test you can
do to determine this. This is where the reputation of the manufacturer
plays an important part.
C. Capacity is the amount of charge a battery pack can hold.
